Sitting high above the road in an open-air Jeep, you will experience panoramic views of the Hoang Lien Son mountains, enormous valleys and terraced hillsides while exploring O Quy Ho, Ban Khoang, Ta Giang Phinh, Phin Ho and other remote corners of Sapa that few visitors reach.

Part 1: Sapa City to the Mountains

Your adventure begins at 8:30 AM with pick-up from your hotel in Sapa or from the meeting point near Sapa Stone Church. After meeting your professional Jeep driver and English-speaking guide, we leave the town center and begin our open-air adventure. As the Jeep climbs away from Sapa, the scenery gradually changes from the town’s architecture and busy streets to vegetable farms, mountain slopes and expansive countryside. The open-air design gives you an unobstructed view of the landscape and creates a completely different way to experience the mountains.

Part 2: O Quy Ho – Mountain Roads Above the Clouds

We continue towards O Quy Ho, one of the highest mountain areas in northern Vietnam, reaching elevations of around 1,800 meters above sea level. Along the way, we stop at carefully selected viewpoints where the mountains open into spectacular panoramic landscapes. From here, you can look across enormous valleys and, weather permitting, enjoy views towards Fansipan, the highest peak in Indochina. The Jeep then follows the mountain road through the Hoang Lien Son range, passing forests, farms and dramatic slopes while the scenery constantly changes around you.

Part 3: Ban Khoang – Into Sapa’s Hidden Backroads

Leaving the main road behind, we turn onto quieter backroads leading into the hidden valleys of Sapa. This is where the journey becomes truly off the beaten track. The Jeep travels along narrow mountain roads towards Ban Khoang, passing spectacular rice terraces and remote countryside where very few tourists venture. Several stops allow you to admire the immense Khoang Valley and some of the most impressive terraced landscapes in the region. We also visit local families, giving you an opportunity to learn about traditional lifestyles, farming and the customs of the ethnic communities who have lived in these mountains for generations.

Part 4: Ta Giang Phinh – Valley, Village & Local Lunch

We continue towards Ta Giang Phinh, one of Sapa’s most beautiful and peaceful valleys. Surrounded by mountains and extensive rice terraces, the valley is home to Black Hmong communities living in traditional villages along the streams and hillsides. After exploring the area with your guide, we stop for a local lunch at a restaurant in Ta Giang Phinh, where you can enjoy freshly prepared regional dishes while taking in views of the surrounding mountains. After lunch, take a gentle walk through the village before getting back into the open-air Jeep for the next section of the adventure.

Part 5: Phin Ho & The Road Less Travelled

The afternoon takes us even further away from the main tourist routes as we continue towards Phin Ho and Can Ho B. This remote section of the journey is one of the highlights for travelers who want to discover a side of Sapa that remains largely untouched by mass tourism. The road winds through enormous rice terraces, mountain valleys and traditional settlements, with frequent opportunities to stop and enjoy the scenery. The combination of open-air Jeep travel and quiet mountain backroads makes this a truly immersive way to experience the scale and beauty of northern Vietnam.

Part 6: Return to Sapa

After exploring the hidden valleys and mountain communities, we begin our journey back towards Sapa. As the Jeep descends from the highlands, you will have one final opportunity to enjoy the changing mountain scenery and look back across the valleys you have explored during the day. We arrive back in Sapa in the late afternoon, completing a full-day adventure through mountain roads, secret villages, enormous valleys and some of the most spectacular landscapes in the Sapa region.
